OUR PATRONESS

Inspired by St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara
St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara (1805–1871) was a visionary educational pioneer, social reformer, and priest who dedicated his life to education, social upliftment, and the service of humanity. In 1831, he co-founded the Congregation of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) with a mission to serve society, particularly the marginalized and underprivileged.
Inspired by the vision and educational legacy of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, Lisieux College of Education strives to empower aspiring educators through knowledge, wisdom, values, and responsible service. The institution views education as a transformative journey that leads individuals from learning to understanding, and from understanding to meaningful action.
Through quality teacher education in Coimbatore, Lisieux encourages student teachers to develop professional competence, moral responsibility, social awareness, and a spirit of service. The college seeks to nurture educators who can become a positive source of knowledge and inspiration, guiding future generations towards truth, wisdom, and a better society.
Knowledge. Values. Wisdom. Service.
St. Thérèse of Lisieux (1873–1897), lovingly known as the “Little Flower,” is the patroness of Lisieux College of Education. A French Carmelite saint, she dedicated her short life to cultivating a deep love for God and serving others through humility, kindness, and selfless sacrifice.
Her spiritual philosophy, known as the “Little Way,” teaches that holiness can be pursued through simple acts of love, faith, humility, and service in everyday life. Rather than seeking recognition through extraordinary achievements, St. Thérèse found meaning in offering even the smallest actions with love and sincerity.
Inspired by her life and teachings, Lisieux College of Education seeks to nurture student teachers who value compassion, responsibility, humility, and service. Her example encourages future educators to understand that meaningful change can begin through small acts of kindness and dedication.
The college draws inspiration from St. Thérèse’s enduring message of love, faith, simplicity, and service, encouraging every aspiring educator to become a positive influence in the lives of others.
Her Little Way. Our Guiding Light.
